Ramon Diaz, 88, of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away on March 29, 2024.

Ramon was born to Sofia Diaz and Ruben Peralta, on December 10, 1935, in Salcedo, Dominican Republic. Ramon left school after seventh grade and worked with livestock where he grew interested in business.

Before moving to the United States, Ramon served in the Armed Forces of the Dominican Republic in 1965. After coming to America, he co-owned two Bodegas in Providence RI, before moving back to the Dominican Republic in 1982. He fulfilled his dream of opening a bakery and a pawn shop. He enjoyed serving others by offering help whenever he saw someone in need. He enjoyed working in the yard, milkshakes made with fruit from his own trees, and spending time with family.

Ramon taught us all that no matter how hard things are in life you can accomplish your dreams through hard work.

Ramon is survived by his wife Patria Diaz (Vargas) and eight children, Jose, Rolando, Ray, Aaron, Ruth-Loise, Luis, Roland, and Felipe. He was the eldest of seven siblings, five younger brothers and one sister. He is survived by twenty grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Ramon was predeceased by his daughter, Ruth.

Visitation and service will be held on Wednesday, April 3rd from 10:00am-11:45am in the J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations, 925 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, RI followed by a procession to North Burial Ground Cemetery, Branch Avenue, Providence.
